Projektbeschreibung

Modellierung thermodynamischer Eigenschaften von Fluiden in Schmierstoffspalten mittels molekular-basierter Zustandsgleichungen

Zustandsgleichungen sind ein häufig genutztes Werkzeug zur Vorhersage von thermodynamischen Eigenschaften von Fluiden. Sie bieten einen guten Kompromiss zwischen Extrapolation, Genauigkeit und Geschwindigkeit der Vorhersage. In Schmierstoffspalten herrschen oft extreme Temperaturen und Drücke, für welche wenig oder keine Messdaten von thermodynamischen Eigenschaften vorliegen. Aus diesem Grund soll in diesem Projekt die Anwendung von Zustandsgleichungen zur Vorhersage von thermodynamischen Eigenschaften von Fluiden unter extremen Bedingungen untersucht werden. In einem ersten Schritt werden hierzu verschiedene molekular-basierte Zustandsgleichungen aus der Literatur in einem Softwarepaket implementiert und um eine API (Application Programming Interface) erweitert. Dies ermöglicht die Anwendung der Zustandsgleichungen in beliebigen Simulationsprogrammen. Zusätzlich sollen die Zustandsgleichungen aus der Literatur bezüglich ihrer Anwendbarkeit zur Beschreibung von thermodynamischen Eigenschaften bei hohen Temperaturen und Drücken untersucht werden.

Das Projekt ist in das internationale Graduiertenkolleg IRTG 2057 "Physical Modeling for Virtual Manufacturing Systems and Processes" eingebunden. Hier werden verschiedene Fertigungsprozesse und -abläufe auf unterschiedlichen Skalen untersucht und deren Zusammenhänge betrachtet.
